  • Your username is the email address which has given to us by your Agent. If you’re unsure, contact support and we can resend your login details.

  • A guarantor is someone who agrees to step in and support your rent if you cannot pay. Rent Buddy acts as your guarantor so you don’t need to rely on family or friends.

  • No. Even if they are husband and wife, they will need to complete their own individual application form.

  • Most tenants are approved within 24–48 hours once documents are provided and payment is made.

  • Some applicants do not put all their addresses on the application form; this can in fact mask County Court Judgement's or a poor credit history (detrimental information). We obtain proof of address (i.e. an original bill, bank statement or official letter), when they are not on the electoral roll at the address given. This enables us to credit check other addresses. Please note if the applicant has opted out on the electoral roll (i.e. ticked the box to confirm that they do not want to receive junk mail) we will require proof of residency.

  • tenant is responsible for rent and named on the tenancy agreement.

    permitted occupier lives in the property but has no legal responsibility for paying rent.

  • You can pay online via card on our Tenants portal.

  • Yes — we run a soft check and affordability review. It doesn’t affect your credit score.

  • No - you will need to pay for Rent Buddy upfront.

  • If the site isn’t working properly, clear your browser’s cache/cookies or try a different browser.

  • You’ll sign your Rent Buddy agreement electronically. Your landlord will sign their part too.

  • You have a 14-day cooling-off period unless your tenancy has already started. After that, fees are non-refundable.

  • No — Rent Buddy is only for residential tenancies.

  • We act as your guarantor for the full tenancy term.

    If arrears occur, we support your landlord and work with you on a solution.

  • Fees vary based on your monthly rent and tenancy length. You’ll always see the price upfront.

  • Yes — we welcome international tenants.

  • This depends on the applicants country of origin, please see below for a basic guide (these are guidelines only);

    From the UK - Nothing is required, however we still advise you view and retain two forms of proof of identity (as with all applicants), one of which must be photographic and a passport is always prudent. Viewing a passport in the past has identified anomalies and prevented potential fraudulent applications.

    Anywhere outside the UK - If an applicant from outside the UK is eligible to remain in the UK they will have to hold one of the following documents; An application applying for settled/pre-settled status, pre-settled status, settled status/unlimited right to remain, a share code which must be provided to the letting agent/landlord for them to check, an entry clearance.
